So, I have decided to start a blog documenting my journey of NPC Bikini competition.
Here is some of my background info.
As a child I was not active in sports. I would mostly get hit in the head with the basketball or tennis ball. So i hated it. I got into cheerleading and horsebackriding, later on it was theatre. My parents got active when I was a teen. I was not into that in any way. It wasn’t until the sumer after my Freshman year of college that I got involced in fitness… and I have been hooked ever since. I started it all as a runner. I blame my father, becasue i rememeber him going out for long 11 mile runs just for the heck of it. In my early adult life he became the best running partenr i could ever have. Even though we live hundreds of miles a part, when I visit him, we always make time for a run. We had the opportunity to run a marathon together in 2009. I have kept up running, winning several local races in tuscaloosa. Now have switched my focus on to another area… Bikini competitions. I am going through the National Physique Comittee NPC for my competitions. I am going to compete within Alabama and hopefully have the opportunity of branching out.
I am a Masters student in communication studies and a coach for the AFC speech team. I also teach groupexercise classes. Right now, I teach Hips, Butts, and Guts, and Total Body Sculpt. I hope to branh out into some running classes and boot campstyle workouts in the future.
I train with Headhunters Combative in Tuscaloosa. My trainers are wonderful and have helped me out a ton in the past few months.
I am so greatful to have a wonderful and active family. They are supportive in everything that I do. My mother is the strongest woman I know mentally and physically and she pushes me to be the best I can be. Without their support and guidance, things would be very difficult.
With this blog I just want to keep track of how thigns are going for the next 12 weeks and beyond. I want to start it private and then maybe open this up to family and freinds. We will see!
